Porcelain veneers are thin shells of porcelain that cover the front surface of the teeth to improve smile aesthetics.  They are bonded to the teeth and can change the teeth’s:

• Color
• Size
• Shape
• Length

Patients choose porcelain veneers and cosmetic dentistry for a variety of reasons.  For some, the teeth might be excessively discolored to a point beyond natural repair.  Others might have teeth that are worn, chipped, or broken.  The teeth may be misaligned, irregularly shaped, have gaps, or be uneven, resulting in a smile that is less than perfect.

The Porcelain Veneer Process

During an initial consultation, Dr. Ali will consult with you to understand the result that you want to achieve. He will examine your teeth to ensure that porcelain veneers are the right choice for you. If so, approximately ½ millimeter of tooth enamel is removed from the teeth to make room for the veneers. The veneers are bonded to teeth structure by dental adhesive and a resin based cement.
